Analog Kitchen
Нидерланды
Добавлен 13 июл 2018
Hey there, I’m Analog Kitchen and I play electronic music live on stage. Since there is a lot of debate on what is an electronic live set, I decided to dedicate this channel to that topic. I prefer to work DAWless and like to share my tips and tricks with you.
When I started, I didn’t have any good recourses to help me with the questions I had. And since every setup is personal, it helps to get a look in the kitchen l, so to speak. Enjoy and leave a comment if you want to get in touch or want to know more!

The Ultimate Ear Training Guide | On Route To Find Chords
Tossing a baseline with two keysteps and contrastng sounds, while curating the modular doing it's thing? Priceless!
Sounds great!
That is amazing man. What strikes me the most is your choice of notes, it doesn't look like you're sticking to the regular D minor despite having that bass note of D. I'm definitely going to try add off key notes in next time. Also the way you space out and alternate between the elements is top notch.
Thanks Erin! Glad you like it!
<3
Hey Robert! Hope you’re well. I’ll contact you about something!
Yeah I like that, very practical advice thx AK
Glad you like it Ketama!
Thank you! You bass tips are always helpful.
Yes Aaron, there simply is no life without bass
that's so good advice
Glad you like it Chambre!
Belushi - Evolution, a breakbeat track, has one of the best call and response sub basses i have ever heard. And also the best pad placement that totally changes how the track sounds……goes from nice light and funky….when the lad hits it suddenly changes the track into deep and moody….bloody brilliant
But if it wasn’t for the temptations, I think they’ve not come up with it. So yes, poorly invented but very well executed. Papa was a rolling stone: ruclips.net/video/nXiQtD5gcHU/видео.htmlsi=kFptvkUtDmK37idY
Very interesting thank you!
💯
hell yeah that was sick
I probably don't need them, but it's good to have them
My favorite Legit presenter of deep wisdom does it again!!!!
Even your video editing keeps getting better and better man! 🙌✌️♥️
At first I thought it was an odd question, cos I've never heard anyone ask 'what do I need from the crowd?', but it really gave me a fresh perspective, some new ideas and some inspiration. Thanks man, your videos are really helping me!
Why does it appear like nothing is connected to the inputs on the Boss DD-7???
Because I'm using flat cables to safe space. Check them out, they're made by Rockpower.
@@AnalogKitchen Will do! Maybe it was the angle but it seemed like a tight fit for even flat cables. Cheers!
This guy 🔥
Nothing like a wah pedal on Synths ;)
you communicate joy of playing with music and spontaneously in the present with your video ha ha not a dam laptop. Thank you!
Yes your voice comes through better with a little bit of compression. Good stuff.
Good to hear!
Is it possible to have all patterns arranged and displayed on a launchpad or apc mini? I don't want to stay in that next sequence menu. Isn't it funny that the illumination on a novation launchpad works without any issues right after starting and the apc mini stays completely dark?
:)
I use the mod duo-X very flexible multi pedal which do also synth… I love it… ruclips.net/video/GwEjk3Ppj-c/видео.htmlsi=YuMrTcFWAgxWIi4G
I have a mixer with 3 sends. On one I have a Zoom MS-70CDR multi effects pedal for reverb and sometimes a delay + reverb. This is so versatile. If you are on a budget and need to buy your first pedal, get this. It does lots of different chorus, flanger, delay and reverb FX. On the second send I have the warm sounding MXR Carbon Copy analog delay and on the third send two cheap pedals from from Joyo (Baatsin distortion/overdrive and NASCAR delay) This gives me a great palette for recording and live jams. I write tracks by first live jamming and then taking the cool parts to develop into tracks. These pedals are always part of the jamming performance. Love them 💜 Great carousel. Keep up the good work Lucien and the carousellers. Hope to join you one day
I do really love the basic sounds, arp and bass - I‘m aiming on a space echo :-) th als for the vid
I have a Boss Tera Echo on the J6. Makes a nice combo. Will check the June60. Chorus is cool sounding. I struggle to route separate pedals to individual synths and drums. 1 big daisy chain is not great
I use a ZEN delay and empress reverb. The ZEN delay is very hands on, and the empress reverb just sounds very good
thanks again - i look forward to these tutorial/demos as a source of inspiration for my own material. 30:27 Great Dance Carousel this week - well done!
Source Audio and Red Panda pedals have become my favorites. Not cheap, but very good sound quality and stereo. Endless tweaking options (if you like) via the editors and you can save presets. Nemesis/Ventris delay/reverb combi is unbeatable.
Amazing what kind of magic comes out of these small boxes. And there are so many of them!
Pedals - a recipe for next level GAS 😅
This video is one of the most important videos in music theory on RUclips. But nobody understands. This is what the music "teachers" Adam Neely and Rick Beato don't understand. The literally believe that the emotion doesn't change if you play or sing in a different key. The real truth is that we hear in a spectrum. There are 12 notes between Middle C and a high C (an octave), just as there are 12 division of color in the chromatic color wheel. Chromatic Scale = Chromatic Spectum. Middle C begins the rainbow with the most fiery, warm, weighty key. (The C note by itself sounds fiery). C# is the blood now pumping. Vigor. See Vangelis's "Chariots of Fire," the song for the Olympics. D is orange. Tummy Chakra. Happy belly means contentment. (See Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," Symphony no. 9 in D). (Conversly, D as the happiest key becomes the saddest key when in minor. D minor is the saddest of all keys. Makes people weep instantly." From This is Spinal Tap (1984). E-flat is a orange yellow. A "golden yellow." Discovery. Coming to awareness. (See Fleetwood Mac's "Mystified"). Is is the first magical key. E is yellow. BIight key. Flash of light. The light of Christ. Key of consciousness and full awareness and presence. F# is Grass green. Growth. Transition from the human and animal to the plant and earth world. (F if lime green. Envy. But also release. Letting go. Pouplar for Gospel music.) G is turquoise. Communication. Aquamarine. Words "flowing" form the Tonge. A-flat is the key of death or estrangement. Blue. Circular. See Sting's famous "stalker song" Every Breath You Take, which he wrote as he was stalking his ex wife's apartment when she was shacking-up with her new man. "Every breath you take, I'll be watching you." A, at 432hz Scientific tuning is important. I don't know how to explain it simply, so I'll just say that if C is red (God's universal love), the A is sort of the element that allows for that love to move. A is elemental. It is both earth AND sky. I can say no more. Too much to type. A is Indigo blue. Blue-violet. B-flat is the second magical key. See "Blue Velvet" by Bobby Vinton. Blue-violet color. Purple. Prince & the Revolutions "Purple Rain" was LITERALLY written in the key purple. Bb is the dream. B major is the dream made real. B major is the Spirit. Ghosts. Ray Parker Jr. "Ghostbusters" theme was written in B major. Magenta. The last color in the rainbow before the spectrum disappears into ultra violet. Ray Parker Jr. was a REAL musical. Adam Neely is Marxist who go his degree in music a Berkley College of musical in the San Fransisco Bay area. (And I, myself am a gay man, so you can't call me homophobic.) Adam Neely is a Woke monster. And he's very smart. Smarter than me. Which is scary, and diabolical. // But I'm a wiser. God, for the most part, is with me. Magenta (B) merges back into C (red). Rebirth. Born again unto the Lord. Read 'em and weep, hoes! Thank you Analog Kitchen for this blessed video. God is with you. God bless you and yours.. Please, everyone, come visit me at _The Acoustic Rabbit Hole_
Wow, Ritchie was so nice. Makes me a bigger fan
Great story!
Hey Dude, your Videos are really cool. I would though recommend you to put a compressor on your voice as you speak with lots of dynamics. Some words get lost on their way. Thanks!
Thanks for the tip! Done! Check tomorrow night's vid!
@@AnalogKitchen you're welcome. I will. 🙂
Such an underrated video
Thanks for watching!
I love how the Faderfox is exactly the same width as the Octatrack. Almost like it was made for it 😀
Right?!I think someone at faderfox has some love for the OT!
quick Q. in your videos you are using a mixer and faderfox? an mc 707 is an 8 channel mixer with much better effects than both combined.
I beg to differ about the MC707. And since setups change more than underwear around here I can assure you it will find another purpose soon...
have you ever trid the toraiz dave smith sp16? one of the finest pieces of hardware ever produced imho!
I own one...I've loaned it out to a mate of mine. It's on it's way back
@@AnalogKitchen good stuff because its discontinued!
got that roland last year. so much fun its stupid! Still its a bit limiting only..
Agree
This is so infectious and great!
Glad you think so!
you always rock it <3 and i cant wait to see you live in Romania <3 how do you treat your external synths? do you sidechain them in the octatrack/mixer or do you just leave them as they are because everything you play (in your live videos and also tutorials) always sound clean and club ready.
I don't mix, eq or sidechain anything tbh... I just level it so it works. I'd love to come back to romania! Let's gooooo!
@@AnalogKitchen great! we are waiting for you <3 hugs!
Thank you, AK! informative and delightful as always!
Appreciated! And thanks for you being here my friend! Much more ahead!
Not bad but this was a CLICK BAIT. He wrote ONLY WITH THIS and ended using more.
I assume he meant only this [setup], for example. AK is legit, not the type to clickbait
Love these videos! What is that device you are using that is recording/playing back your sequences?
The MPC you mean?
@AnalogKitchen Akai MPC that must be it! Thank you!
26:30 Duran Duran ftw ❤
Hell yes!
Side note. I just bought an Electra one MK2 midi controller. I was about to get the FF MX or PC 12 but found the E1 along the way in my search. Touch screen, totally programmable midi controller. It’s brings new life to old synths.
I'm gonna investigate... Touchscreens suck though with wet fingers and that is what happens when I play out
A nice reminder that there are only a few basic ingredients to the core recipe. That kick, monologue xd baseline and Roland melody was solid. Everything else was icing.
Great video as always. I just got the Aira S-1. It`s limited in sound design but you can get pretty much do all classic synths sounds very easily and the sequencer its very inspiriting, but my Circuit Tracks its still better for sequencing live. Now my setup its Bass Station 2, Circuit Tracks, S-1 and Modal Skulpt(both sharing the same channel in Circuit Tracks). Now I`m looking to change my Skulpt for something that had the same sound design capability but with a better filter and no issue with usb powering.
VERY NICE INTRO TRACK :))) √√√√
Glad you like it!
Nice that you keep experimenting with new setups and approaches, but with the key principles in mind!
For sure!
another great AK tutorial/jam session!
Thanks again!
